: Gothic Metal
this is one musical genre that i love so there will lots of posts about bands and songs :: and this interest over the years resulted in my more modern crush on female-fronted symphonic metal bands …
The Gathering could be included in either style, as could Lacuna Coil.
Evanescence and Lullacry are perhaps best examples of female-fronted gothic metal :: somehow the female voice adds wonderful counterpoint and emotion to the power and drama of metal music.
bands like System Of A Down and Rammstein also bring power and passion in large measure :: who i often listen to as a counterpoint to the female voices

I currently work with a female fronted goth metal band called Under A Spell. Hope you take the time to check them out on my top friends on Myspace.
Hailz!
thanks for the heads-up Rebecca :: have listened to the MySpace tracks and there are some good moments :: am a little worried about the sound mix, however :: have the tracks been professionally polished? just that Pam sounds a bit shrill at times, and the drums perhaps a bit muddy :: always hard to know about the real sound with MySpace as the sound quality can be affected by compression, even if it is really good to start :: is there an album in the works?
